Andrew C. EngelCPA

The reviews are in: Andy Engel is an excellent singer. (He’s an even better CPA.)

Andy Engel became a CPA in 1973, but when joined his first accounting firm in the early 1970s, he had no idea the owner’s son would become a lifelong colleague. He and Larry January worked together so well that they eventually bought the practice from Larry’s father in 1980 and launched January & Engel Accounting and Tax Service, performing bookkeeping and tax preparation for small and family-owned businesses through the ’70s and ’80s.

With 40 years invested in their business and turning customers into long-term clients and even friends, Andy and Larry wanted to repay that loyalty by providing an honest, reliable and professional CPA firm to take their place at retirement. They chose to merge their practice with Timpe CPAs in 2016.

Today, Andy focuses on accounting services for retailers, restaurants, physicians and dentists, other service businesses and real estate operations.

Outside the office, Andy is usually singing. He’s extremely interested in what he calls “finer music,” which includes some classical and jazz. He’s sung in a synagogue choir since 1980 and currently is part of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation choir.

Andy says it’s Timpe’s personal service that sets the firm apart. And that may or may not include a private rendition of “Money, Money” from Cabaret.
